Thank God I'm not the only one!
awesome
just awesome. this was great. i loved the whole thing. and i actually learned a couple things. but might i add a couple things:
if youre doing your own art, and draw an automatic pistol like that, please remember that every time you fire, the slide will pull back, and eject the shell, and then snap back into place. shouldnt take more than a frame or two. also, no handgun will kick back that much as in this tutorial. sure it looks kinda cool, but unless youre firing a raging bull or .44 magnum, the kickback will lift your hand 4-6 inches, no more. sorry, im in the military and i love guns. but this tutorial was brilliant, and everyone should watch it.
wow
new to flash? that was better than most of the drivel i see posted daily on the portal by "vets". keep it up, make em longer, and try some vocals, you could be the next legendary fro- i mean jot and ja- i mean super fla-i mean you could be good. dont worry about the preloader, i cant figure that actionscript crap out either. i just wanna draw, people! on the downside, you used "2" instead of "to" in your intro, and my wife hates you now.
Oh no someone hates me now...:( oh well thanks for the positive review!
fantastic
holy hell. this is by far the best lovecraft mythos oriented cartoon ive seen yet! even better than pokemoneth al subuzneth beelzebub. i figured with the title it would be a lame attempt, but after watching i know its intentional, and i feel even MORE rewarded! im gonna go watch it again and feel my mind shift!
ia ia!
fantastic
read any book on making flash toons. each say "take advantage of flash limitations and make them your style" which is exactly what legendary frog has done. im not really one for video game spoofs, theyre just too easy, so im not the biggest fan of all your work, but these lotr sendups are astonishing in quality and content. great timing, no dragging, wonderful. i like all you work though, theyve kinda become synonymous with what a flash cartoon looks like.
wtf
look, i know you put a lot of time into this, so im not going to try to just tear down your entire self esteem. however, this is a majorly flawed animation. i can see you were going for a gross out warner bros style, which means maybe you should actually watch a few cartoons, get a sense of timing. thats what comedy is, timing. at first i thought all the characters were speaking gibberish, which was funny until i realized they were actually speaking english. theres really no excuse for that. i use an $8 microphone going through a shareware program. there really is no reason to have that foul of audio. comedy timing aside, the last few scenes begin to run into each other, the audio beings and ends before characters even begin to move their mouths, its basically chaos.
watch some more cartoons, classics especially and get a feel for timing. read some books like cartooning in flash, or illusion of life from disney. these books really help lay down the groundwork for what a cartoon should be.
visually however, i think you did quite well. a stripped down style with repetitious models can be quite funny. focus more on your comedic timing, your audio recording, and your vocal acting.
